Beth Teitell writes front page features at the Boston Globe. Her beat--loosely defined--is human behavior. She aims to capture the zeitgeist of modern life, and has written about bidding wars over rental apartments, the black puffy coat, and how it eventually comes for every woman in Boston, the tyranny of the color gray, and how it finally lost its grip, and what it's like to take a cold plunge outdoors, in winter, in the middle of Boston. Her humorous commentaries have run on public radio’s popular Marketplace program, and she is the author of two books, From Here to Maternity: The Education of a Rookie Mom, and Drinking Problems at the Fountain of Youth.
